| Teknaf Upazila map Teknaf Upazila (cox's bazar district) with an area of 388.68 sq km, is bounded by hilly area and ukhia upazila on the north, the bay of bengal on the south and west, Naf river and Myanmar on the east. The upazila stands on the south-eastern extremity of Bangladesh and at a distance of 86 km to the south from Cox's Bazar Sadar.
Teknaf (Town) consists of 9 wards and 9 mahallas. The area of the town is 31.53 sq. km; population 18951; male 53.43%, female 46.57%. The density of population per sq km is 601. The literacy rate among the town people is 27.2%. The town has two dakbungalows.
Administration Teknaf thana was turned into an upazila in 1983. It consists of 6 union parishads, 12 mouzas and 133 villages.
Marks of War of Liberation Badhya-bhumi (mass killing site) at Natyangpara.
Population 152557; male 51.81%, female 48.19%; Muslim 96.93%, Hindu 1.19%, Buddhist 1.80%, others 0.08%.
